The Osborn opened in 1908 as a non-profit organization fulfilling the mission and vision of its founder, Miriam A. Osborn, to create one of the first senior living communities in New York State. From those early days in our sophisticated Georgian main building, to our more recent addition of modern apartments and garden homes, The Osborn continues to offer many senior living options. Although new communities are opening at a record pace in our area, prospective residents are still looking for a fun, unencumbered, engaged lifestyle within an organization that has demonstrated longevity, financial security, and a proven track record of excellence.
All of these qualities are found at The Osborn in a secure, friendly, and beautiful environment. Sterling Park, The Osborn’s independent living community, offers a 100% refundable entry fee for one, two, and three bedroom apartments as well as spacious, single-story garden homes. There is also an 80% refundable option for some units. In addition, The Osborn offers attractive monthly rental units in our historic Osborn building. Our Sterling Park community stands out in Westchester County with plentiful outdoor spaces and unique floor plans.
Today’s residents are savvy and often concerned with safety and staying connected to family, friends, and each other. Osborn residents enjoy gourmet meals in a choice of dining venues, physical activity, such as walks along our private trails, fitness classes, including Pilates and yoga, a swim in our indoor pool, and putting on our outdoor golf green. They can attend fashion shows, concerts on our South Lawn, shopping trips locally along Purchase Street in Rye, jaunts to New York City to visit a museum, attend a Broadway show, or just to shop and have lunch! For some, it may be the spectacular 56-acre arboretum campus that is meticulously manicured and graced with more than 1,000 trees, including 124 various species. They can socialize throughout the day or spend time reading in our four-season, glass-enclosed, Mauritz Reading Room. The Osborn’s WellSpring program offers ongoing educational programs, speaker series, bestselling author talks and educational lectures by visiting faculty from Manhattanville College.
